I provide online science tuition for:
KS3 Science — Years 7–9
GCSE Combined Science — Biology, Chemistry and Physics
GCSE Biology — Separate Science Biology
GCSE tuition is currently focused on the AQA specification, allowing sessions to be closely matched to the content, terminology and exam skills students need for their course.
If you're unsure whether your child's course is suitable, you're welcome to include their exam board and course details on the enquiry form.
All regular tuition takes place online on a 1:1 basis during school term time. Sessions last 60 minutes and are tailored to the individual student's needs.
During school holidays, regular weekly tuition pauses. Optional seasonal group exam booster sessions may also be available, particularly in the lead-up to GCSE exams. These are booked separately from regular tuition.
No. You can choose between Pay As You Go sessions or a Half-Term Block.
Pay As You Go is ideal for occasional or targeted support, while a Half-Term Block reserves a regular weekly slot and provides consistency throughout the half term.
I'll review the information you've provided and get back to you within 3 working days to discuss your child's needs, availability and the most suitable tuition option.
As I'm also a full-time practicing science teacher, you might not hear back from me straight away (there's a good chance I'm teaching!), but I'll always get back to you as soon as I can.
If we decide to go ahead, I'll then send you everything you need before your child's first session.
No. Students will never be pressured to have their camera on if they don't feel comfortable doing so.
Cameras are encouraged where possible, as being able to see each other can make sessions more interactive and helps me pick up on when a student may be unsure or need something explaining in a different way.
However, I know that being on camera can feel uncomfortable for some young people, particularly when they're meeting a new tutor. I'd much rather a student feel comfortable enough to engage and ask questions than be put off tuition because they feel they have to be on camera.
We can always build up to using it as their confidence grows.
Regular 1:1 tuition runs during term time.
During some school holidays, I may also offer optional seasonal group exam booster sessions, particularly around key points in the GCSE year.
Details of any upcoming booster sessions will be shared separately and there is no requirement for existing students to attend.
Your child will need a device with a reliable internet connection, such as a laptop, computer, tablet or phone, that they can use to join their online sessions.
They'll also need a way to make notes and work through questions during the lesson. This could be a notebook and pen, or they can work electronically if they prefer.
A calculator may also be useful for some topics.
Don't worry about having lots of specialist equipment or resources — I'll provide or share anything else needed for the session.
